<h2>POSITION OBJECTIVE:</h2>
<p> The research assistant will support the Program Unit Advisor (PUA) in some of his responsibilities in regards to the Middle Income Country Review, the review of electronic health research in North America, and other up-coming topics.  Applications from undergraduate/graduate students working on topics directly related to MSF research projects are welcome.</p>

<p> <span style="font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold;">KEY PROJECTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES*</span></p>
<p> <strong>1.    </strong>Middle Income Country Review:</p>
<p>The research assistant will work closely with the PUA in supporting the participate in the completion of an Operational Review of identified Middle Income Countries</p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;"> Responsibilities will include:</span></p><ul> <li>Reviewing existing MSF information on the subject</li> <li>Supporting a literature review of the subject</li> <li>Supporting the PUA on the interview, note-taking, and summary of interviews</li> <li>Supporting the writing and editing of the final report and publication</li> </ul><p> <strong>2.    </strong>   Review of Information Technology Tools  applied to medical practices:</p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">The research assistant will work on specific tasks to support a review of existing and emerging Information Technology Tools that can be applied to MSF’s field medical (and non-medical) practices</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">Responsibilities will include:</span></p><ul> <li>Mapping  the existing resources within Canadian the healthcare systems</li> <li>Researching tools developed by private companies or institutions</li> <li>Examining the academic capacity for technology development in Canada for the development of  technology tools to be used for MSF field practices</li> <li>Identifying potential partnerships with the academic institutions, research centers, and private</li> <li>companies who are willing and able to develop free products for use by MSF</li> </ul><p> <strong>3.    </strong>Support to Medical Care Under Fire</p><ul> <li>Development of literature on securitization of medical infrastructure.</li> <li>Support on background paper</li> </ul><p> <strong>4.    </strong>Other advocacy/research dossiers assigned, pending time/availability</p>

<h2>DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/JOB REQUIREMENTS</h2>
