Working with MSF : Technical Logistician


Technical logisticians provide daily technical support to all medical project activities. They install, refurbish and maintain basic medical facilities, as well as needed office and lodging structures. Key responsibilities include providing information to the team on water and sanitation (watsan) issues and implementing watsan activities. They maintain transport and plan vehicle movements. They ensure the cold chain for the transportation and storage of vaccinations. Part of their work consists of security-related tasks: installing and maintaining communication equipment, policies and movement control and hiring and managing guards. They are responsible for supply management. Their work also involves the hiring, training and supervising of local staff. They provide briefings, have frequent contact with local authorities and agencies, other MSF sections and non-governmental organizations as required.
