Working with MSF : Human Resources Coordinator
The principal task of the Human resources coordinator is to create and review human resources (HR) policies. Responsibilities include advising on a wide variety of HR issues, establishing and maintaining contacts with external parties such as government authorities and other NGOs. HR coordinators are responsible for personnel administration, as well as training and supervising locally-hired staff. Human Resources coordinators work as part of an MSF country management team and are often based in the capital of a country where MSF is working.
Basic Requirements:
- Commitment to the aims and values of MSF
- Minimum two years related work experience
- Demonstrable experience with administrative organization
- Relevant of travelling and/or working experience in a developing country and/or similar environment, including northern Canada
- Demonstrable experience in supervising, training and managing others
- Ability to work as part of a senior management team, including project planning responsibilities
- Ability to cope with stress
- Ability to work well as part of multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload, using initiative when appropriate
- Willingness to work in unstable environments
- Valid passport to cover period overseas
- Strong command of the English language
- Available to work for 12 months
Desirable Assets:
- Knowledge of other languages, particularly French, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian and Arabic
- Previous overseas work experience with humanitarian organizations
- Ability to understand and function in different legal environments
- Experience in supervisory and management positions
- Valid driver’s license
