Darfur 2007

Darfur 2007

by Sven Torfinn

[March 2007]

This series of photos by Sven Torfinn (MSF) were taken in and around Kalma Camp near Nyala, in the South Darfur region of Sudan. Kalma is currently estimated to be the largest camp for internally displaced people in the world.

MSF is one of the few non-governmental organisations still working in Darfur. For many organisations, it is becoming increasingly difficult and complicated to operate in Darfur due to bureaucracy, expensive logistics, insecurity, and the complexity of the humanitarian situation there.
