The northwest of Nigeria faced outbreaks of measles and meningitis in 2010. Between January and April, 12,000 people were infected with the diseases. In April, MSF took part in a vaccination campaign in the state of Kebbi, providing vaccinations for 47,569 children between the age of six months and five years old.
