Archer family statement
Laura Archer’s family is extremely relieved and ecstatic that their daughter has been safely released:
"We’re very proud of Laura and if anyone could have handled this situation, she’s the one.
We want to thank all of our family, our friends and our community for their support through this nightmare. We also thank Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF) Canada and the Government of Canada for their untiring efforts in securing her release, including all embassies and organizations that assisted in any way to ensure Laura’s safety.
Our hearts and thoughts go out to the family and friends of Laura’s colleagues who were also held captive. We’ve shared your anguish and now we share your joy.
We are all physically and emotionally drained at this point and would appreciate that our privacy be respec
