From September 25 to 27, 193 world leaders will gather at the United Nations in New York City to bid farewell to the Millenium Development Goals and adopt the Sustainable Development Goals, the next 15-year blueprint for international development, which includes health. Governments, global institutions, funders, civil society and the private sector will set their health priorities and agenda and determine health policies and plans based on this new 15-year blueprint that will affect the health needs of our patients and vulnerable population’s across the world.

Negotiations around the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal are taking place this week in Hawaii. Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is deeply concerned that without transparency or public consultation, the TPP will create damaging trade-agreement precedents that will further restrict access to life-saving medicines for millions of people.
