Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) strongly condemns the July 28 attack on Gaza City’s Al Shifa hospital, where an MSF surgical team has been working. Al Shifa is the main referral hospital for the entire Gaza Strip.

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has been forced to cancel a conference on medical ethics due to take place in Bahrain in April, because of a lack of assurances from authorities, MSF announced today. The conference was to be held in the Bahraini capital, Manama, April 10 and 11.

The international president of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF),  Dr. Unni Karunakara, met yesterday in Geneva with a Bahraini parliamentary delegation that included the Minister of Human Rights, Dr .Salah Bin Ali Abdularahman Dr. Karunakara raised issues related to the need for impartial access to healthcare in Bahrain, and the obligation of medical staff to provide healthcare regardless of patients’ political or sectarian affiliations.
