As Liberia today celebrates 42 days without any new Ebola infections — effectively marking the end of the Ebola outbreak in West Africa — the international medical humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) calls on the global health community to draw on lessons learned in order to be better prepared for future similar outbreaks.

The creators of Africa Stop Ebola, a charity single recorded to raise awareness about the outbreak of the disease in West Africa, have announced that all proceeds* from the song will be donated to Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) and its efforts to stop the spread of Ebola in the affected countries of Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Mali and beyond.

An Ebola epidemic was declared in Guinea-Conakry on March 22. This is the first time that the virus has been detected in the country. MSF has set up an isolation facility for suspected cases in Guéckédou and is preparing to do the same in Macenta. Both cities are in Guinea's Forestière region, in the southern part of the country.
