At the International AIDS Society (IAS) Conference today, the international medical humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) warned that middle-income countries (MICs), which will be home to 70 per cent of people living with HIV by 2020, face increasing threats to their ability to access affordable generic medicines, which are crucial to countries’ ability to reach the global UNAIDS 90/90/90* targets.

Since the escalation of political violence in Egypt in late June, the Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) team in Cairo has been in close and regular contact with the main public and private healthcare facilities throughout Cairo and other affected areas of the country. The team has provided medical supplies and equipment to health facilities on both sides of the clashes.
