Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has been forced to scale back its medical work in and around Mweso hospital, in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The decision follows a succession of incidents where staff were intimidated, patients threatened, medical vehicles stopped and searched, and hospital grounds violated.

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has been forced to suspend medical activities in the town of Pinga in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) following threats against its humanitarian staff.
“We strongly condemn the intimidation of humanitarian workers and cannot accept threats directed at our staff,“ said Colette Gadenne, MSF head of mission in Goma, the capital of North Kivu province.
