It has been over one year since a coup d'état by a group of mostly Muslim fighters known as the Seleka plunged the Central African Republic (CAR) into uncertainty and violence. A loose Christian militia calling itself the anti-Balaka was formed in response to the coup, and fighting between the two armed groups has split the country along sectarian lines.
